LambadaMeCrazy Assistants & Demonstrators

Uta Shimada

Uta is currently assisting in classes and workshops

and demonstrating up to Advanced level. She is also part of Marisa & Gary's

dance group and has regularly performed with them and other dance teachers

such as Braz Dos Santos.

Uta started her dancing career when she was 3 years old at acting school in Tokyo.

Her childhood dream was to become a prima ballerina;

she actually trained to be a professional ballet dancer for 15 years.

After moving to London, she took up LambadaZouk and has been dancing since 2003.

She was trained by Braz Dos Santos, the ex-Kaoma lead dancer. Uta has greatly assisted him for his teaching activities in London during his 2-year stay. Uta’s ballet background has been a great help to her in other disciplines such as flamenco, salsa from Irene Miguel) and LA ballroom. Uta loves LambadaZouk for its fluid and graceful technique whilst believing the dance should have an energy and passion that comes with the rawness this Brazilian street dance. Her LambadaZouk brings that elegance and gracefulness drawn from her ballet years. She has much to offer and share with those students wanting to learn and improve their LambadaZouk.
